How fabric showrooms use Sourcebook

Fabric and wallcovering showrooms manage textile lines from dozens of mills, coordinate memo samples with designers, calculate COM yardage for furniture upholstery, and answer technical specification questions about content, durability, and cleaning requirements. Sourcebook answers standard questions instantly so your staff handles only custom applications and complex projects.

Textile mill coordination

Connect your fabric mills and wallcovering houses with complete pattern catalogs, colorway options, and technical specifications. Designers search across all your mills at once. Stock status and lead times update from each mill automatically. You see which mills designers specify most.

Upholstery yardage calculations

Load COM charts from furniture brands you work with. Designers specify fabric for upholstery and see yardage requirements calculated from pattern width, repeat dimensions, and furniture piece COM requirements. Prevents yardage estimation errors and fabric shortages.

Questions about Sourcebook for fabric showrooms

How do you calculate COM yardage?
We load each furniture brand COM chart and each fabric mill width and repeat dimensions. When a designer asks for yardage on a specific furniture piece, Sourcebook calculates from the COM chart, adjusts for pattern repeat and fabric width, and adds your safety margin percentage.
Can designers order memos directly?
Designers request memos through your showroom storefront with project details and shipping address. You approve the request and the mill ships directly to the designer with your showroom branding on the shipment. You see every memo request and can route it to your rep or coordinate directly with the mill.
What if a fabric is discontinued or out of stock?
Mills connected to Sourcebook update their own catalog with stock status and discontinuations in real time. Your showroom sees the change instantly and designers see current availability. For mills not yet on Sourcebook, our team loads the updated line and marks discontinued patterns based on your notifications.
Do you load wallcovering the same way?
Yes. Wallcovering width, repeat dimensions, match type (straight, drop, random), and roll yield are loaded from each house spec sheet. Designers search wallcovering patterns the same way they search upholstery fabrics. COM calculations work for both textiles and wallcoverings.
Can we track which designers have our memo samples?
Yes. See every memo shipped to each designer with request date, expected return date, and current status. Chase overdue memos with automated reminders. Track which mills and patterns get requested most by your designer community.
How do we handle custom colorways or strike-offs?
Standard colorways price automatically. Custom colorway requests route to you with designer contact and project details. You coordinate strike-off pricing and timelines with the mill. Designers see strike-off approval workflow and production timeline after you quote the custom work.
