COM and grade matrix calculator
An educational helper for COM (customer's own material) fabric pricing and grade matrix logic. See how grade bands work, compare COM with graded pricing, and see when Poly9 returns a certified price and when it returns price on request.
Grade bands, COM tiers, and when rules matter.
This calculator shows the pricing logic behind COM and grade matrices, not real quotes. To get certified prices from your own rules, load your catalog into Poly9.
Grade matrix
Assign fabrics to tiers (Grade A, B, C and so on) by cost or performance. Each grade adds a different upcharge to your base frame price.
Flat COM
One price for any customer-supplied fabric. Simple, but it ignores differences in fabric cost and handling.
Tiered COM
Several COM price levels by fabric type, yardage or cost band. More flexible than flat COM, simpler than a full grade matrix.
Price on request (POR)
When a configuration or fabric is not in your loaded rules, Poly9 shows POR instead of guessing. Your team reviews and quotes by hand.
This is educational, not a price engine
Use this calculator to understand the pricing concepts. When you are ready for certified quotes from your rules, load your catalog and matrix into Poly9. The AI quotes from those rules, or returns price on request when a rule is missing.
COM and grade calculator
Educational tool, not a quote. Every number is an illustrative default you can change.
- Base frame: $2,400
- Grade B fabric: +$150
The defaults are illustrative and show the COM and grade logic, nothing more. For certified quotes from your rules, load your catalog and pricing matrix into Poly9.
Choose the pricing structure that fits your catalog.
Different manufacturers need different approaches. This is how to decide.
Tiered COM
Flat COM plus curated fabrics
